They have a collection of coments by our peers behind the handlebars about noise on www.loudsucks.com called "The Popular Spew" at www.loudsucks.com/spew.htmlHere is a sample: "~ The Popular Spew ~ A collection of quotes from around the web ... by riders. "Loud Saves Lives" This is an old one used by the straight pipe Harley posers ... someone please submit the study that proves this and then tell us how this applies to dirtbikes. While we hate to destory urban legend with actual facts.... 80 PLUS PERCENT of street bike accidents occur with the bike IN FRONT of the other vehicle.. "I'll go quiet when everyone else does" Does that even rate a response? One thing is for sure, you'll lose your riding areas, "when everyone else does". "i'll ride whatever pipe gives the best performance." Surely you need extra single horse power in your quest for another National Title. How's it feel when the bone stock KDX blows by you? Hate to break it to you, a loud pipe doesn't win races. Practice does. "Everyone else has a loud pipe, I'm just one person" Start a freakin' trend already. Seriously, it's GOT TO START SOMEWHERE. WHY NOT WITH YOU? "I don't remember sound being such an issue, "X" years ago" Either you aren't old enough to remember, riding long enough or have selective memory. The sound problem has been around since the early 70's... yes when it was all two strokes. We made 2 strokes quieter, we can do the same with 4 strokes. Now we have Urban sprawl AND obnoxious noise levels. "The Eco-Nazis will just complain about something else if we get quiet" No doubt about that. The big issue here is EVERYONE hates noise, it's an easy war for them to fight. While Joe Q. Public "might" be concerned about a desert weed, it generally wont get him in front of the local government. The sound of dirtbikes while he's trying to relax on his patio will. More to come..... there's plenty to choose from. "
